Biography:
Laurence Budd began playing with water in the 1960’s, growing alfalfa southwest of Denver.  In the 1970’s he worked his way through the University of Colorado by washing dishes in the winter and landscaping in the summers.  After college came Peace Corps, followed by a brilliant career in pathology and forensics.  In the 1990’s he decided to trade death investigation for landscaping and water conservation.  He worked on the droughts in New Mexico in the 1990’s, Denver in 2002, and North Texas in 2006.  Along the way he became a certified landscape irrigation auditor,  a water program designer, and an EPA Watersense Partner.  He is the inspiration for Water Efficiency magazine, recently working with large landscapes for Pasadena, Boulder, Albuquerque, Plano and Beverly Hills. He has been featured on KNBC and CNN Los Angeles local edition in the So. Cal. markets.  Water, energy use and carbon pollution associated with water waste have become major issues in the Southwest.   He notes that the potential for water savings in large landscapes is massive, still an emerging market. As water resources become ever more critical, the expertise we provide in water efficiency will become essential for sustainability.
